A God-Centered Approach to the Enneagram
Good—Loving—Effective—Original — Wise — Loyal —Joyful —Powerful — Peaceful
The Enneagram proposes that all human personalities fit into nine types. Each personality is recognizable by its core essence, a genuine ideal or authentic value. All of these ideals or values are parts of God’s wholeness. Jesus Christ, while on earth, exemplified from his very core, all nine of these values. Through Bible accounts of Jesus we glimpse God's intended wholeness for human kind. Christians put their faith and hope in the potential of becoming like Christ who, through the Holy Spirit, continues to emanate these values. The Enneagram typology is a helpful tool to assist us to love ourselves and see our need for and our connectedness to others.

The Gospel of To Kill A Mockingbird
This year To Kill a Mockingbird is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Harper Lee’s evocative and compelling novel is narrated through the eyes of a young southern girl, Scout Finch. Reflecting on her memories of Atticus, her father, brother, Jem, and next door neighbor, Dill, we are presented with many powerful images. Racial injustice, the fabric of community-life, familial love, the role of “remembering,” suffering and redemption are just a few. Through informal discussion we will explore the characters, values, symbolism and redemptive acts that make this an American classic. This discussion group will include questions to ponder, sharing and viewing video clips of key scenes.

The True Self and the False Self
The term, "false self," has been used in recent years by many spiritual writers to describe the system of consciousness we all develop as a reaction to growing up in a world of conditional love. It is a mask we wear (often without even knowing that we do so) and its roots stretch deep into the unconscious. Sustained by a variety of attachments and addictions, the false self system is our primary obstacle to experiencing God and becoming the person we were created to be. Like the wheat that grows with the weeds in Jesus' parable, the expression of our true self is often distorted by our false self conditioning. In this workshop, we will, in light-hearted manner, unmask the false self system by examining its attributes and characteristics. The more we see it for what it is, the less we become identified with its operations, enabling us to realize more deeply the mysterious true self that we already are.
As part of this workshop, we will review the meaning of terms like God, soul, spirit, self, ego, and others that are often used in a variety of ways.
